Two cities, one highway and a very big sky
Saskatchewan books chauffeurs for two cities two and a half hours apart - the province's economic centre and its capital - for the potash, uranium and agriculture industries that fly people into both, for the Riders' Sundays that are the province's holidays, for the safe-grad tradition its schools built, and for a winter that makes a warm car at the curb the whole point. Saskatoon and Regina have their own pages; Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Swift Current, North Battleford, Yorkton, Estevan and every other address in the province price on the same engine to the same standard. This page is the rest of the map: the airports, Highway 11 and the Trans-Canada, the corridors, the winter, the sectors, the occasions and the provincial rules.

The airports
Saskatoon's Diefenbaker International seven kilometres from the river and Regina International six from the legislature are the two gateways - the shortest big-city airport runs on this site - and both are on the airports page; Prince Albert, North Battleford, Swift Current and Yorkton handle the regional flights; La Ronge and the northern strips handle the mines. Every one is on the engine, with the car warm at the curb from October.
Highway 11, the Trans-Canada and the corridors
Highway 11 between Saskatoon and Regina - two hundred and sixty kilometres, two and a half hours, Davidson halfway - is the province's spine and the weekly run for its businesses; the Trans-Canada Highway 1 runs east through Regina to Manitoba and west through Moose Jaw and Swift Current to Alberta; the Yellowhead Highway 16 runs through Saskatoon to North Battleford and Lloydminster; Highway 2 north from Prince Albert to the lakes. The city-to-city service prices each as a fixed fare with the return built in.
| Corridor | Approx. km | Off-peak hours | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saskatoon - Regina | 260 | 2.5 | Highway 11; ground blizzards in winter |
| Regina - Moose Jaw | 70 | 0.75 | Trans-Canada; the spa weekend |
| Saskatoon - Prince Albert | 140 | 1.5 | Highway 11 north |
| Saskatoon - Waskesiu / Prince Albert National Park | 235 | 2.5 | Highway 11 + 2 + 264 |
| Saskatoon - North Battleford | 140 | 1.5 | Yellowhead |
| Saskatoon - Lloydminster | 280 | 3 | Yellowhead |
| Regina - Swift Current | 245 | 2.5 | Trans-Canada west |
| Regina - Qu'Appelle Valley (Fort Qu'Appelle) | 75 | 0.75 | Highway 10 |
| Regina - Yorkton | 190 | 2 | Highway 10 |
| Regina - Estevan | 210 | 2.25 | Highway 39 |
| Regina - Winnipeg | 570 | 5.5 | Trans-Canada east |
| Saskatoon - Calgary / Edmonton | 620 / 525 | 6.5 / 5.5 | Highway 7 + 9 / Yellowhead; overnight quoted |
| Saskatoon - potash mines (Allan, Colonsay, Cory, Vanscoy) | 30-70 | 0.5-1 | grid roads; SUV in winter |
Figures are approximate; the engine prices the exact address. There are no road tolls in Saskatchewan.
The Prairie winter
From November to March the province's roads are snow-packed, a January cold snap holds below minus thirty-five for a week, and the wind across the plain makes Highway 11 and the Trans-Canada ground-blizzard risks that close them a few days a season. Every vehicle in the fleet runs winter tyres and block heaters, the chauffeurs keep the car warm at the curb, and the Saskatchewan Highway Hotline is what dispatch reads before every corridor departure; a closed highway is a phone call before the pickup, and a trip that cannot go is cancelled without charge. The grid roads to the mine sites are the SUV's business.
The lakes and the summer
Waskesiu in Prince Albert National Park, Emma and Christopher lakes north of Prince Albert, Candle Lake, the Qu'Appelle Valley's lakes an hour from Regina, Cypress Hills in the south-west, the Battlefords' lakes: the province's summer weekends are city-to-city fixed fares with the return built in, in an SUV that takes the cabin's supplies, and the Craven Country Jamboree in July and the Ness Creek festival have shuttle lots the chauffeurs know.
The sectors that book the corporate account
The potash and uranium companies headquartered in Saskatoon and their mines across the province, the agri-tech and food-science firms at Innovation Place, the Crown corporations and the provincial government in Regina, the universities in both cities and their hospitals, the RCMP's depot, the oil companies in Estevan and Lloydminster: the corporate account's one monthly invoice covers the airport transfer, the mine-site day and the Highway 11 corridor.
The occasions
The river weddings in Saskatoon and the Wascana weddings in Regina, the safe-grad shuttles the schools book for the whole class in June, the Riders' Sundays and the Labour Day Classic, the Blades' and the Pats' winters, the Saskatoon Ex and the Queen City Ex in August, the Jazz Festival, the Fringe, Agribition in November: the wedding, prom, sporting events and nights out pages cover each, and a Riders home Sunday is booked the week the schedule is announced.
The rules a passenger might want to know
Chauffeurs hold the province's Class 4 licence for taxis, limousines and small buses and the vehicles carry commercial passenger insurance through SGI; the cities license the operators. Winter tyres are not required by law but every vehicle in the fleet runs them. Child restraints are required by the Traffic Safety Act until the child is seven, 145 centimetres or thirty-six kilograms, and the chauffeur fits the seat at no charge when it is noted at booking. The drinking age is nineteen and alcohol in a vehicle is permitted only in a licensed limousine with a partition, for passengers of age.
What a limo costs in Saskatchewan
Fixed by the addresses and the vehicle class, shown before you book. The airport to downtown in either city in an Executive Sedan is the province's most-booked transfer and among the lowest airport fares on this site; Highway 11 and the lakes are fixed fares with the return built in; the wedding, the grad and the Riders' Sunday from Saskatoon are priced by the hour or as round trips with a minimum. No surge on a Riders Sunday, no meter, no gratuity added. The fleet page has the capacities.
Cross-border from Saskatchewan
The North Portal crossing on Highway 39 south of Estevan and the Regway crossing on Highway 6 are the province's borders, and the cross-border service runs to Minot and Williston, North Dakota, and to Montana on our own cars; every passenger needs a passport or NEXUS card.
Two questions Saskatchewan travellers ask the desk
Is Highway 11 open? The Highway Hotline's answer on a winter morning, read before every corridor departure; a ground blizzard closes it a few days a season. Can a Sprinter bring our group from Saskatoon to a Riders game and back the same night? Yes, as one fixed fare with the chauffeur waiting through the game. A third, asked every May: the June wedding Saturdays and the safe-grad nights in both cities are booked by April.

Booking notes by vehicle class in Saskatchewan
The Executive Sedan is the airport-to-downtown car in both cities and the Highway 11 corridor car; the Premium Sedan is the Innovation Place and legislature choice; the Luxury SUV is the lake, the mine-site and the grid-road vehicle and the one to book for a ground-blizzard month; the Executive Sprinter carries the wedding party, the safe-grad class, the Riders' group and the lake weekend's household; the Stretch Limousine is the grad and wedding car and the only vehicle in which the province's alcohol rule permits a glass; the Minicoach is the corporate shuttle and the Riders' vehicle for twenty. The fleet page has the capacities and the booking page prices each class against the address.
Three Saskatchewan itineraries the desk builds most often
The Highway 11 corporate day. Saskatoon airport pickup at 7 am with the flight tracked, the corridor to Regina in two and a half hours with the chauffeur working from the car, the legislature and the Crown corporation meetings by the hour, and the return or the Regina airport by evening - one plan, one invoice, and the corporate account carries it.
The Riders' Sunday from Saskatoon. A Sprinter from Saskatoon at noon with the group and the cooler, Mosaic Stadium by three, the chauffeur waiting through the game, and the return by midnight - one fixed fare with the return built in, and the Regina page has the stadium.
The Waskesiu cabin weekend. Saskatoon pickup Friday, Highway 11 and 2 to Prince Albert National Park in two and a half hours in an SUV with the cabin's supplies, and the return Sunday - fixed fares with the return built in, and the Saskatoon page has the north.
The Saskatchewan numbers a traveller might want
Saskatchewan is home to roughly one and a quarter million people and produces about a third of the world's potash; Saskatoon's Diefenbaker International handled more than one and a half million passengers in its last full year and Regina International close to a million, and both sit within seven kilometres of their downtowns; the province has more road per capita than any other in the country - roughly two hundred and fifty thousand kilometres, most of it grid road; and Mosaic Stadium seats thirty-three thousand for a Riders' Sunday that half the province watches. The Highway Hotline, the Saskatoon Airport Authority and Tourism Saskatchewan publish the figures.
