The bridge city

Saskatoon's airport is seven kilometres from the river and its downtown, its bridges are the city's shape and its winters are the Prairie's, and the chauffeur bookings follow: the airport transfer is short and booked for the 5 am departure and the minus-thirty arrival; the corporate account books for the potash and uranium companies, the agri-tech firms and the university that make the city the province's economic centre; the wedding season and the safe-grad shuttle fill the summer and June; and SaskTel Centre's Blades and concerts fill the winter. We run the full service across Saskatoon, Martensville, Warman and the surrounding towns: the airport transfers, the corporate black car, the hourly chauffeur, the weddings and the proms and grads.

Diefenbaker International, and how the pickup works

Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker International is in the city's north-west, seven kilometres from downtown and twelve minutes on Airport Drive and Idylwyld, fifteen in the evening rush. It is a single terminal with the Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto and sun flights, a short walk from any carousel to the curb; the pre-arranged limousine pickup is at the arrivals level, signed separately from the taxi rank, and the chauffeur texts the curb and the plate before landing. Meet and greet inside the hall is the add-on; thirty minutes of waiting are included on a domestic arrival and sixty on an international one; in winter the car is running and warm at the curb, which the airport permits at the pre-arranged area. The Saskatoon Airport Authority publishes the layout at skyxe.ca.

Downtown, Broadway, the university and the neighbourhoods

Downtown's towers on the west bank hold the mining companies' offices, the hotels and the Midtown mall; Broadway across the river is the restaurant and shop street; Nutana and City Park the older neighbourhoods; the University of Saskatchewan's campus on the east bank with its hospital and the innovation park; Stonebridge and Willowgrove the newer suburbs; the industrial north for the agri-tech and the manufacturers. Martensville and Warman fifteen minutes north price on the same engine, and the Saskatchewan page covers the province beyond.

The corporate city

The potash and uranium companies headquartered downtown, the agri-tech and food-science firms at Innovation Place, the university and its hospital, the synchrotron at the Canadian Light Source, the provincial agencies and the engineering firms: Saskatoon's corporate accounts book the airport transfer, the hourly chauffeur for the day across the city and out to a mine site, and the city-to-city run to Regina on Highway 11 in two and a half hours. The visiting executive from Calgary or Toronto is met with meet and greet; one monthly invoice.

SaskTel Centre, TCU Place and the venues

SaskTel Centre in the north end for the Blades, the Rush and the arena concerts, with the pre-arranged pickup at the arena's commercial lot inside the closures; TCU Place downtown for the symphony, the touring shows and the conferences; the Remai Modern gallery on the river; Griffiths Stadium at the university for the Huskies; Prairieland Park for the exhibition in August and the shows. The sporting events and nights out pages cover the pickup arrangements.

The calendar

The Saskatoon Ex at Prairieland in August, the Jazz Festival in June, the Fringe on Broadway in August, the Folkfest pavilions across the city in August, Nuit Blanche in the autumn, the Blades' winter and the Huskies' autumn; the Meewasin trail's summer and the river's frozen winter. Tourism Saskatoon's calendar has the dates; the hourly chauffeur is the way to do a festival evening.

Weddings, socials and the grad

Saskatoon's wedding season is May to October and its venues are the river's - the Delta Bessborough's gardens, the Remai, the Western Development Museum's Boomtown street, the barns and halls of the surrounding towns - with the stretch limousine for the couple and the Sprinter for the party as the wedding page's plan. The province's grad tradition is the safe-grad shuttle the schools and the parent councils book for the whole class, and the prom and graduation page sets out how it works; the June Saturdays are booked by April. The University of Saskatchewan's convocations at Merlis Belsher Place are the spring's family bookings.

Traffic, weather and the honest drive times

Circle Drive rings the city and Idylwyld crosses it; the bridges - the Broadway, the University, the Circle Drive North, the Chief Mistawasis - are the rush-hour points and the winter's ice. The winter is the story: snow-packed streets from November to March, a January that can hold at minus thirty-five for a week, and a wind across the river that makes it worse. The chauffeurs run winter tyres and block heaters and keep the car warm at the curb; the Saskatchewan Highway Hotline is what dispatch reads for the Regina and the mine-site roads. The honest figures: the airport to downtown in twelve minutes; to the university in fifteen; to Warman in twenty.

Hotels and the drop-off

The Delta Bessborough on the river - the castle hotel - the Sheraton Cavalier and the Hilton Garden Inn downtown, the Alt in River Landing, the James on Broadway's edge, the Park Town by the university, and the Saskatoon Inn and the airport hotels on Idylwyld for the 6 am flight: the chauffeurs know each forecourt, and the travel desk books the room.

What a limo costs in Saskatoon

Fixed by the addresses and the vehicle class, shown before you book. The airport to downtown in an Executive Sedan is the most-booked transfer and, at seven kilometres, one of the lowest airport fares on this site; Regina is a corridor fare; the wedding and the grad are priced by the hour with a minimum. No surge on a Blades playoff night, no meter, no gratuity added. The fleet page has the capacities.

Regina, the lakes and the corridor

Regina is two and a half hours south on Highway 11 and the city-to-city run the province's businesses make weekly; Prince Albert and the northern lakes ninety minutes north; Waskesiu and Prince Albert National Park two and a half hours for the summer weekend; the mine sites east and west of the city as fixed fares with the chauffeur waiting. The Saskatchewan page covers the province's roads.

Two questions people in Saskatoon ask the desk

Is a chauffeur worth it for a seven-kilometre airport run? On a July afternoon, perhaps not; at 4:30 am in January for the 6 am Calgary flight, with the taxi companies short of cars and the app empty, it is the only car that will be there and the fare is small. Can the Sprinter do the grad for our school? Yes; that is safe grad, built as one plan with the school and invoiced to it, with the chaperone rule the board sets. A third, asked every May: the wedding Saturdays from June to September are booked by March.

A winter morning departure, worked through

A Tuesday 6 am departure for Calgary on WestJet in January, one traveller in Stonebridge, minus thirty-four at 4:30 am. The Executive Sedan was booked the evening before; the block heater has been plugged in overnight and the chauffeur has the car warm at the door at 4:25. Circle Drive at 4:30 is empty and the airport's departures curb is reached at 4:45, ninety minutes before the flight, which for Diefenbaker's five-minute walk to security is generous. The fare on the receipt is the one on the confirmation; the two taxi companies had a forty-minute wait that morning and the app had no cars. The same traveller's Thursday 11 pm return books with the flight number, and the chauffeur is idling at the pre-arranged curb when the aircraft lands.

The university and the innovation park

The University of Saskatchewan's campus on the east bank - the stone buildings, the Bowl, the Royal University Hospital, the Canadian Light Source synchrotron and Innovation Place's agri-tech and mining-technology firms - brings visiting scientists, executives and the September move-in through Diefenbaker every week, and the corporate account for the university's departments and the park's companies is the city's steadiest. The convocations at Merlis Belsher Place in June and the prom and graduation page's family cars follow; Tourism Saskatoon's calendar has the campus's public events.

The mine-site run

The potash mines east and west of the city - Allan, Colonsay, Cory, Vanscoy - and the uranium companies' offices downtown book the hourly chauffeur for a visiting executive's site day: Diefenbaker to the downtown office, out to a mine an hour away, the site tour with the car waiting, back to the office and the airport, on one invoice line. The Saskatchewan Highway Hotline is what dispatch reads for the grid roads in winter, and the SUV is the vehicle for them.

The river and the summer

The South Saskatchewan River is the city's summer: the Meewasin trail's forty kilometres, the riverbank festivals, the Remai Modern's terrace, the Broadway Bridge at sunset, the Delta Bessborough's gardens. An hourly chauffeur for a summer evening - dinner on Broadway, the Fringe's late show, the river's lights on the way home - is the season's booking, and the Ex's August week at Prairieland the busiest.

Two more things the desk is asked

Can the chauffeur wait through a three-hour convocation? Yes; the waiting is inside an hourly booking and the Merlis Belsher lot's drop-off is on file. Do you do the Ex? Yes; Prairieland's commercial gate is the pre-arranged pickup for the August week and a Sprinter for the family is the usual booking. And the question every spring: the June wedding Saturdays and the safe-grad nights are booked by April, and the stretch limousines go first.

The Meewasin winter

From December to March the river freezes, the Meewasin trail becomes a ski track, the Delta Bessborough's rink opens and the WinterShines festival fills the last week of January; a chauffeured evening from a Broadway dinner to the river's lights is the season's small pleasure, and the car is warm. The Saskatchewan page covers the province's roads in the same season, and the Highway Hotline decides whether the Regina corridor runs on a given January morning - a trip that cannot go is cancelled without charge.
